Q: Why did you choose to take AP Art?
A: I chose to take AP Art because I find great enjoyment creating art and want to challenge myself as an artist.
Q: What difficulty level do you think AP Art will be for you?
A: I think AP Art will be a positive challenge for me. It will push me out of my comfort zone, exploring creative and unique ways to express my ideas. The most difficult part will be managing my time completing the 15 projects by early May for my concentration. I think it will also be challenging overcoming my perfectionism and not stressing over each minute detail in each project.
Q: What is your concentration?
A: My concentration is mans’ relationship with time. I desire to showcase the unavoidable effects of time and man’s reaction to it and illustrate how humans respond physically and mentally to that natural occurrence.
Q: Why did you choose your concentration?
A: I wanted to explore this concept because in all stages of life, it seems we as humans are always occupied with battles with time. We all have constantly changing relationships with it. Nearing the end of our high school careers, the time for our childhood is dwindling and it takes on a whole new meaning as we begin new chapters. I wanted to explore this concept of time, as it possesses great prevalence to us all, and recognize its ever-present nature while gaining an appreciation for the time we have.

Q: Why did you choose to take AP Art?
A: I chose to take AP art because of the experience— I like having myself challenged with art all the time, and I thought this was the perfect way to do it every day. Also, Mrs. Satterfield, of course.
Q: What difficulty level do you think AP Art will be for you?
A: I think AP art will be much more difficult than I have experienced, and I will have to motivate myself a lot more to get things done.
Q: What is your concentration?
A: My concentration is “the effects of gender concepts on self-image, growing up, and transitioning (How can I use different types of art to represent the irony and reality of these concepts?).” This concentration is essentially my attempt at making art focused around gender concepts and my trangender/transition experience, while also paying attention to how everyone of all genders seem to be affected by these ideas.
Q: Why did you choose your concentration?
A: I chose this concentration because I wanted to make a series of art about gender and being transgender, but I felt like I had no real way to share it to people, which I feel is an important part of making something like this. By taking this class, I can share this idea with all the people who view my art during the process and after its completion.
