JTs Fantasy Favorites
(Week 5: October 5th)
Start Em
Joe Burrow: Despite having only 4.7 fantasy points last week, Joe Burrow is still Joe Burrow. I am a firm believer that Cincinnati will bounce back from this terrible start and this week is perfect for that. Burrow and the Bengals take on a below average Cardinals defense and with the criticism hot seat on Burrow I expect him to deliver. Put him in your lineup this week he’s going to go off.
Gus Edwards: Edwards played 71 percent of snaps in the backfield for the Ravens last Sunday 15 carries for 50 yards. Not that impressive but the amount of time he is on the field and his carries stands out to me. Playing against a weak Steelers rush defense I see Edwards having a big game as the Ravens will try to exploit the Steelers weakness.
Adam Thielen: With the Panthers starting the season 0-4 not many have been paying attention to quite frankly anything that has been going on with the team. Adam Thielen has gone under the radar the past few weeks raking up 20, 33 and 14 fantasy points the past few weeks. Thielen has seemed to be getting good snaps and targets all season, I expect him to continue his consistency. Should be a great WR2/ Flex start.
Sit em
Trevor Lawrence: With the Jaguars taking on a Bills defense that held Tua and the Dolphins offense to only 20 points on Sunday I don’t see Trevor Lawrence and a struggling jags offense doing any better than the top offense in the NFL. Lawrence has a total of 4 touchdowns through 4 games. To add on, the Bills have allowed the 4th fewest passing yards in the NFL this year. Some may not have a choice here but if you have another viable option go with the other.
Najee Harris: Harris is coming off his best game of the season which was 11.3 fantasy points. Najee was outscored by his counterpart Jaylen Warren (11.5) last week as well. Warren also beats out Harris in the passing attack receiving more than double of Najees targets. The Ravens have yet to allow a touchdown to a running back this year as Najee is yet to score one. Najee and the Steelers just aren’t producing on offense. I think he is a must sit for this week.
Drake London: Drake London continues to struggle along with the Falcons inconsistent passing game. London did catch a touchdown last week but I wouldn’t trust him. He averages 8.9 fantasy points per game and only gets 5 targets per game. Until he starts producing and the Falcons passing game improves I would stay far away.
(Week 4: Sept. 28)
Start Em
Justin Fields: I know what you’re thinking, why in the world would I start a QB who has scored lower than 17 points all year. Don’t count out Justin Fields just yet, especially this week. Fields and the Bears take on the Denver Broncos who may have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. After giving up 70 points to the Miami Dolphins last week I see Fields eating up that Denver Defense.
D.J. Moore:This does seem a little odd for me to be this high on the Bears this week, I just think Denver’s defense is that bad. With a bad Denver defense and Justin Fields eager to prove that he can be as good as he was at the end of last season, expect a big game out of the number 1 wideout in Chicago.
Alvin Kamara: Kamara returns this week after 3 game suspension to start the year. The Saints take on a Tampa Bay team who allowed over 200 yards rushing to the Eagles last week. With RB2 Jamal Williams on the injured reserve list Kamara should be the main focal point this week in the Saints rushing attack.
Sit em
C.J. Stroud: Stroud by far has been the best rookie QB in the first month of the season. He’s definitely a breakout candidate in a keeper league that you would want in years to come but I’m not sure you want him in your lineup this week. The Texans take on a red hot Steelers defense this week that loves to put pressure on the QB. Expect a down week from Stroud as he will struggle under pressure.
Zay Flowers: After receiving 10 targets last week for less than 50 yards, Zay Flowers’ task this week doesn’t get any easier. A Baltimore offense which struggled last week taking on a top defense in Cleveland I expect a lack of production out of Flowers. Worst case you can have him start at the flex position at most.
Brian Robinson Jr: Robinson had a breakout week 2 scoring 28 points in a win over Denver. But again Denver’s defense is terrible Phillys is not. The Commanders in Buffalo last week struggled to get anything going, expect the same this week. Robinson is a must sit in Philly.

(Week 3: Sept. 21)
Start em
Tua Tagovailoa: With Tua and the Dolphins continuing to steamroll opposing defenses I expect nothing to change this week with Miami. Miami is taking on a Denver defense who allowed Sam Howell to throw for 299 yards on Sunday. Imagine what Tua and Tyreek could do.
Kyren Williams: Since Cam Akers is gone Kyren Williams is the new lead back In LA. Kyren went against one of the toughest defenses in the NFL last week, the 49ers playing 96% of snaps carrying the ball 14 times for 52 yards and a TD. Expect Kyren to get a very big workload this Sunday against a struggling Bengals defense.
Ja’Marr Chase: Same thing I said last week with Tee Higgins. Do not bail on Ja’Marr yet. He still is a top 3 receiver in not only fantasy but the league. With all the criticism and hate going towards Ja’Marr is going to come out with a chip on his shoulder and have a Big game.
Sit em
Daniel Jones: It’s a weekly occurrence that I pick a player to sit who is playing the 49ers defense. This week it’s Daniel Jones. The Giants did have an impressive comeback last week but the problem is it was against the cardinals. We saw what Dallas did to them. With a short week, no Barkley and playing one of the top defenses in the league Daniel Jones is a must sit for week 3.
Dalvin Cook: With Dalvin Cook only having 9 fantasy points in his first 2 games I see no reason to have him in your lineup. Micheal Carter is now having an increased role in the offense due to Breece Hall being hurt and Cook struggling. Stay away from Cook until we see an increased workload and improvements.
Garrett Wilson: Garrett Wilson has had a good start to the season scoring 2 times in 2 games. I don’t expect this to continue. Last week the Jets offense really struggled against Dallas only putting up 10 points. In a struggling offense without Aaron Rodgers I just Don’t see Wilson putting up good numbers.

(Week 2: Sept. 14)
Start em:
D’andre Swift: With Kenneth Gainwell out D’andre Swift is the new lead back for the Eagles. Playing against the 30th ranked Vikings rush defense on Thursday night I expect Nick Sirianni to get Swift heavily involved in the Eagles offense.
Tee Higgins: Tee Higgins in week 1 had the worst start of his career. I get it you are probably annoyed and are the type of person to say you’re “never starting him again”. Do yourself a favor and keep the faith. I expect a complete bounce back week from Joe Burrow and the Bengals. They still are one of the best teams in the NFL and I expect a huge game out of Higgins on Sunday in Baltimore.
Anthony Richardson: Last weekend even though taking a loss vs the Jaguars I think AR proved that he is the real deal. Finishing the game with one rushing touchdown, throwing for 223 yards, one touchdown and an INT, Richardson looks like another strong start facing a weak Houston Texans defense.
Sit Em
Cam Akers: Another Week another Running back playing the 49ers needs to be sat. The 49ers defense continues to decimate opposing running backs and I expect this week to be the same. Sit Cam Akers.
George Pickens: With Diontae Johnson out the main focus for the Browns defense is on George Pickens. I expect an already weak Steelers offense to give more targets to guys like Calvin Austin and Allen Robinson.
Kirk Cousins: Cousins and the Vikings take on an Eagles team Thursday that allows the fewest points vs opposing QBs in the NFL. The Vikings offense got off to a very shaky start in week 1 vs Tampa Bay only scoring 17 points. With a historically good Eagles defense vs QBs mixed with Primetime Kirk Cousins the odds are not in Kirk’s favor tonight.

(Week 1–Friday Sept. 8 2023)
Super Bowl pick: Steelers vs Eagles
After watching the Pittsburgh Steelers in the preseason I was in all honesty shocked with the jump they have made. Kenny Pickett looked way more comfortable and most of all Accurate during his preseason reps. The Steelers strike me as an underrated team that nobody is talking about and I truly believe they have the talent to make a run.
In the NFC I don’t see anyone even remotely close to the level the Eagles are on. Weak conference, maybe the 49ers can give them a tough time. I just can’t see Brock Purdy leading them to beat the Eagles.
Fantasy Picks for Week 1
Start em:
Javonte Williams: This may come off as a risky start to some due to injuries but I would definitely have Javonte starting at either the RB2 position or FLEX. Despite The signing of Samaje Perine Broncos HC Sean Payton claims Williams will play a “major role” in the offense sunday. With new head coach Sean Payton at the head of the offense against a weak Raiders defense who is ranked 31st in the NFL (PFN) I would expect Williams to get the majority of the workload this weekend.
Geno Smith: Last year Geno Smith yes Geno Smith was a Top 10 Quarterback in fantasy football averaging a very solid 19.4 points per game. This week Smith and the Seahawks take on a jalen ramsey less Rams defense. With a Rams declined secondary and one of the top receiving corps in the NFL led by DK Metcalf and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba,I expect Geno Smith to have a great day passing.
Mike Williams: This week the Chargers are at home vs the Miami Dolphins which is the green light to start Mike Williams. Williams had 6 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown last year against Miami. Also being the WR 2 Williams should be able to avoid star Corner Xavien Howard which would definitely help him get more targets.
Sit em:
Najee Harris: After a breakout rookie season Najee Harris’s sophomore season was a struggle. With the Steelers hosting the 49ers this week I do not see anything changing. The 49ers have one of the best Run stopping defenses in the national football league and I expect them to shut Najee down. Not only is that a factor but also Jaylen Warren could be seeing more touches and time on the field due to a very good preseason performance.
Deshaun Watson: Ever since leaving Houston Deshaun Watson has been nothing but a mess. His inconsistency with his stats and his availability to play has really hurt his value and overall I would just stay away until he proves other wise. I mean c’mon has this guy ever been good since leaving Clemson?
Marquise Brown: A no brainer here in my opinion. No Kyler Murray bad overall circumstances in Arizona new coach and coordinator. Josh Dobbs will be taking snaps and throwing him passes. I Don’t expect a lot of offense out of Arizona, I expect a down week and a down year from Brown.
