Bosco cheese sticks — single handedly the best lunch entrée to ever come through Norwin High School. Although others disagree and say pretzel dippers, potstickers, chicken nuggets, or spicy chicken patties are the best school lunches. Deep down everyone knows that Bosco cheese sticks stay on top.
Perhaps it’s the childhood nostalgia of going to lunch in elementary, getting to pick your lunch for the day. Getting that excited feeling to go to lunch; to talk with your friends and be a “big kid” grabbing your lunch all by yourself. Grabbing that paper bag with the Bosco cheese stick logo on it, all by myself, I was able to swipe my card to “pay” for my own meal just like a big kid.
Maybe it’s not even the nostalgia it gives me, maybe it’s the taste. The heavy layer of parmesan cheese they sprinkle on the top and the melted cheese inside. Something about that specific cheese just makes a bosco cheese stick so good. No other lunch food can even compare to the amazing exquisite taste of a Bosco cheese stick. It’s the only lunch day (besides country chicken bowl) I get excited for. But, I will have to say that the best part about Bosco cheese sticks was the paper bag they used to come in. (Which they don’t have anymore)
Others criticize me for my opinions on Bosco cheese sticks, but they don’t get it, they don’t understand the importance of a Bosco cheese stick. They hate on the Bosco cheese stick and for what. For their mediocre pretzel dippers — which are way too salty by the way. Same with the potstickers, they’re so mediocre, it’s good once, then not really again. My feelings are all the same on the lunch menu items, good at first but by the second bite, it’s not as good as it was.
Now I realize that my taste buds are different from others but I’m certain that I got this one down. Anyone who disagrees with me needs to give them another try because I guarantee that opinion will change after the first bite. The cheesy goodness, the soft bread, the parmesan cheese, and the sauce, all together for a perfect bite.
Although I do still have some hate for them… Why do they choose to only give me two Bosco cheese sticks in my lunch? TWO Bosco cheese sticks are simply not enough for me. Why do they continue to use the same portions for every year that you’re in school? Throughout my thirteen years of school, I’ve still only received two Bosco sticks for my lunch.
The portions may be small but the taste of them is mighty, which keeps me coming back and choosing Bosco cheese sticks every time. Bosco cheese sticks remind me of growing up after every bite. They’re top tier, never mediocre, a delicious Norwin lunch item that brings me back to my younger self. But everything has to change at some point, just like how the Bosco sticks made it out of their paper bag. The next day to buy Bosco cheese sticks is to be determined, and that will be the day I look forward to most this year.
