With three dances a year, the search for the perfect dress is constant. The Norwin Junior Class Office is holding their annual Fall Consignment Sale on Wednesday Nov. 8 and Thursday Nov. 9. Both days of this sale will take place from 3:30-7 p.m. and dresses will be on sale in the Norwin High School Auditorium Lobby (enter through door #6).
“The consignment sale began as an offshoot of the Prom Fashion Show we used to do,” said Mrs. Danae Brentzel, the sponsor of the Junior Class Office. “The first sale had about twenty old bridesmaid’s dresses, but in the years since then, between donations from local dress shops and tons of consignments from fashionable Norwin students, we are proud to have hundreds of dresses to offer.”
This year, there are over 400 new and used formal dresses on sale, with an inclusive size range. The sale has many dress types that will fit the occasion of any dance, such as Homecoming, Snoball, and Prom. In addition to dresses, there are also shoes and jewelry for sale. The prices for these dresses can range from $10-$100, and all proceeds from the sale benefit the Norwin Prom Fund.
“I believe that the longer, tighter dresses will be most popular at this years sale,” said Junior Class Officer, Molly Geissler. “Typically, girls hit the consignment sale for prom and snowball dresses, and the tighter long dresses tend to be the popular dress at those dances.”
“We are expecting a good turn out this year,” said Mrs. Brentzel. “It is an incredibly fun event to attend.”
