Having music playing in your ear everyday can have an impact on your mood, focus, and work ethic. People listen to music sometimes to express their feelings, to get things off their minds or just to put them in a happy mood.
People of all demographics listen to music, but teens in school spend the most time listening for varying purposes.
Studies have shown that listening to music during work or class can help people focus more. It can also affects someone’s mood, how they act or how productive they are throughout the day.
“Music is a big part of my life because it helps me concentrate in school, music helps me escape from my problems,” freshman Gracie Martin said. “Music makes me happy to listen to something I love every day.”
People also have different opinions about music. Some people don’t look at music as a big part of their life. Some people don’t like to listen to music and it doesn’t help them focus.
“Music is not a big part of my life because I have other things to do than to listen to music,” freshman Sydney Kennedy said.
People also listen to music to get them prepared or hyped for sports or an event they are about to participate in.
“Music is a big part of my life because it helps me get things off my mind and get me hyped for school, sports, etc,” freshman Haley Aubele said. “I listen to music every day whether it’s through my phone, AirPods , speaker or car radio.”
Music can also be a coping mechanism when someone is going through something rough in their life. People can also use it as a coping mechanism. To get through the day can be hard for some people or when they are going through something they can put there AirPods in and it helps with what is happening around them go silent.
Some people even can’t imagine what their lives would be without music. Some people need, using to be able to do daily tasks or make their mood change on a day to day basis.
“It is a big part of my life because it allows me to calm down, cheer myself up, focus, and feel more confident,” freshmen Ellie Dull said in a recent poll. “I love music and the variety of different types of it. I listen to it almost all the time and can’t imagine what it would be like without it.”
Music can also express what a person feels or is like through a melody. If you listen to someone’s song that they are listening to sometimes it will have lyrics in the song that they relate to or an artist they relate to.
“It expresses how someone feels through a melody,” freshman Riley Nicholls said.
It can also be a big part of people’s lives because they play an instrument as a way to express feelings or just do it for the fun of it. If they take a music class it could be their favorite part of the day, get them through the day or even give them motivation to wake up in the mornings.
“Music is a huge part of my life; listening to music is my favorite thing to do. I also play instruments and sing in my free time and in school, choir is one of my favorite classes,” sophomore Katherine Carroll said.
Some people listen to music in the morning, night time or afternoon. People could listen to it in the morning to get ready for something or at night to help them fall asleep or help them feel calm to prepare for the next day.
People listen to music in all different ways and different taste of music, but regardless what they listen to it can help them accomplish many things and get through things in life and Mika everything feel okay. In conclusion music affects people’s lives in all different ways. For some it could be helpful and for some music could not be that big of a deal.
