From March 4 to March 13, the Norwin High School Student Council sold St. Patty’s Day Candy Grams during the lunches to celebrate Irish heritage and St. Patrick’s Day. This is the first year that the Norwin Student Council sold Candy Grams for St. Patrick’s Day. Each Candy Gram buyer was entered into a raffle for a $25 gift card to Crumbl Cookie. The Candy Grams were handed out during homeroom on Friday March 15, after all of the Candy Grams were sold.
A junior from Student Council, Olivia Lane, and others from Student Council started the project in order to celebrate Irish heritage and to bring more light to St. Patty’s Day at the high school. During lunches A, B, and C, Student Council members sold a small bag of Hershey’s chocolates and a golden coin to students. The small bags of candy and luck are 2 dollars for one bag and 5 dollars for three bags of candy. Each small bag of candy was sold to many students, offering a profit to Student Council for the project.
On Friday March 15, Sophia Tokay (10) won the $25 Crumbl Cookie gift card for buying Candy Grams from Student Council and being entered into the raffle.
The St. Patrick’s Candy Gram proved to be a huge success for Student Council members, raising money for future events and shedding light on St. Patrick’s Day.
