Throughout my years at Norwin, I’ve always heard the cliche quote about how miserable underclassmen can be as upperclassmen. I never really understood that until this year… the screaming in the hallways, the immature jokes and stories constantly being told for everyone around to hear. These core memories for some are when I first realized that I’m ready to move to my next chapter in life. Although I hate to admit it, I’m sure that was me at some point in time — loving high school, wishing it would never end. But, now I can’t wait to continue with my life and flourish in the future. I can’t wait to go to college, graduate, and get a dream job. While that may seem to be a little too optimistic and unrealistic I cannot wait; I can’t wait for the struggles in life, the happiness, and the pain that may come with it.
Although I’ve grown out of my high school era, I can still thank and look back upon everyone and everything that has made my memories and years at Norwin enjoyable. The teachers who have devoted their time and lives to helping educate students to thrive in the future. The students who I built bonds with make my time here not only educational but also fun. Those core moments that have stuck with me since I was in elementary school… Fun Day, Q & U wedding, the mini Olympics, St. Patrick’s Day when the Leprechaun would come in, walking around the building in my Halloween costume, and even PSSA testing days when we got to make our shirts in the science lab. Those are the days that had an influence on my years at Norwin. So, the point I’m trying to make is to look back and remember the fun times; enjoy those moments until the very second they end.
Not only was I able to enjoy fun moments here and there, I was able to learn. I realize that I along with many others take that for granted. Yes, there are those times when you’re sitting in class staring the clock down waiting for the red hand to hit the 12, there’s still moments you don’t want to leave. The teachers make their lessons so enjoyable that every other class you attend for the day just seems to be a chore. The ones who can stand there in front of a classroom full of kids and still have an impact on every one of them. That is what has shaped me into the person I am today… those mentors.
As I embark on the next chapter of my life, I carry with me a sense of gratitude for the experiences and lessons learned during my time at Norwin. While the transition may bring its own set of challenges, I am eager to embrace them with optimism and determination. Each interaction, whether with teachers or fellow students, has shaped me in unique ways, preparing me for the journey ahead. As I look forward to college, graduation, and pursuing my dreams, I am reminded to cherish the memories and friendships forged in high school. These moments, both big and small, have left an incredible mark on my heart, and I will carry them with me as I navigate the uncertainties of the future.
