Ms. Kelly Jones
Q: What position are you in what do you do in that position?
A: I am currently serving as assistant principal at high school so it’s multifaceted. There’s lots of things you do as an assistant principal. I can observe teachers, go in and offer instructional support, have those rich, robust conversations about curriculum and what goes on in the classroom, but also being supportive of students discipline helping with attendance.
Q: What college did you go to?
A: I went to a couple colleges. I spent some time at Mercyhurst College in Erie. I have a degree from Robert Morris college. It is now a university but when I went there, it was a college. I have a business management degree with a concentration and communications from there, and then I went back to St. Vincent College to get my certification in English for English education and I have a masters degree from the California University of PA in educational administration.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Forrest Gump. I find it so entertaining the way it uses history plus the story plus somebody that has to deal with struggle in their life and how they overcome obstacles with resiliency is a big thing with me and I feel like that movie encompasses that.

Mrs. Colby Kelly
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in that position?
A: This year, I am excited to serve as the Dean of Students at Norwin High School. In this position, I have the opportunity to work with students each day. Some of the areas that I focus on include attendance and tardies, student bussing and discipline, student obligations, managing the ALC and Saturday Detention, and early interventions for graduation pathways.
Q: Why do you want to be a Norwin Administrator?
A: I have taught in the Norwin School District for over 24 years. I’ve always been passionate about education and believe in its power to transform lives. My experiences as a teacher have shown me the significant impact that effective leadership can have on student achievement and success. I’m excited for the opportunity to serve as Dean of Students because it offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference on a larger scale. I’m committed to fostering a positive and effective learning environment and am eager to bring my skills and dedication to Norwin High School.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: I tend to watch documentaries or short series on Netflix, but I would say my top two movies are Steel Magnolias and Maleficent.

Ms. Concetta Krznaric
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in that position?
A: I am the new CSN (Certified School Nurse) in Room 101.
Q: Tell us more about what the average day looks like for you!
A: An average day in the nurse’s office can be very busy with various things such as: Students dropping off paperwork for medications, physicals, immunizations etc. Evaluating ill or injured students, guidance counselors stopping in to discuss different student issues, administering daily or as needed medications, parent phone calls. Just to name a few….
Q: Any cool places you have traveled to?
A: I love the beach and collecting seashells, my favorite place to vacation is Sanibel-Captiva Island in Florida.

Mrs. Kristin Sweeney
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in that position?
A: I am a Special Education Teacher- I support and teach students in grades 9-12! I am also a 9th grade English teacher! This is my fourth-year teaching at Norwin High School!
Q: Tell us more about what an average day looks like for you!
A: I move around a lot throughout the day! I teach three classes of ninth grade English, I support two classes of Geometry, and I support students the rest of the day in the resource room! I spend a lot of my time working with students to make sure they have the help that they need in their classes!
Q: If there is one thing you want to students to know about you, what is it?
A: One thing that I want students to know about me is that I love Taylor Swift!! I have seen her every time she has come to Pittsburgh!

Ms. Sydney Gatons
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in that position?
A: I am currently teaching 10th grade Cultures of the World and 11th grade U.S. & PA 3. In Cultures of the world, we focus on the elements of culture, case studies on various cultures from around the world, as well as how culture spread through major historical events from around the world. In U.S. & PA 3, we focus on events and themes occurring between 1890 and present day. In that class, we really try to connect and see how history is present in everything we do.
Q: Why do you love teaching your field?
A: I always knew I had an interest in wanting to be a teaching and when I got into middle school, I really started to love social studies. So, I decided that becoming a social studies teacher would be the best for me! I also really love getting to know all of my students’ different personalities and trying to make my classroom a place where they all feel welcomed.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is either Hocus Pocus or Parent Trap.

Mr. Dillon Madigan
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in that position?
A: High School Emotional Support/Support students in their academic and emotional needs on a day-to-day basis while communicating with general education teachers to assist with student needs in the classroom.
Q: Why do you love your teaching field?
A: I love my teaching field because I can develop student centered relationships tailored to help each of my students thrive academically and emotionally.

A: I have been to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, St Augustine (Florida), New York City.
