Fancy Nancy

Fancy Nancy is undoubtedly iconic. I remember being a kid and reading the books, being absolutely fascinated with everything she had going on. Fancy Nancy is truly maximalism to its core. This costume is niche enough to not be basic, but not unique enough that nobody will know who you are.

David Bowie

Another great idea is an homage to one of the most iconic stars to ever come out of American music- Bowie. You could dress this down, or up. A simple lightning bolt across the face would get the point across, but there’s ample opportunity to dress up as any of his iconic looks or moments.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter, arguably the biggest breakout star of 2024, has many iconic looks to choose from. The best part about a costume of her, however, is that she’ll always keep iconic aspects of her looks to make a costume recognizable, her hair and the hearts she implements in almost every outfit being the most notable of those.

Carrie

If you’re looking for a more classic costume, Carrie is perfect. The 1976 cult classic offers up the iconic moment where Carrie is covered in pigs blood in her prom dress, making both a notable and graphic costume- perfect for Halloween.

Duos

Mr. and Mrs. Fox

The characters from the movie “Fantastic Mr. Fox” is a great look for couples. It’s incredibly versatile, including a yellow dress for one person and a brown coat for another, with some sort of fox ears and makeup. The option to stick with the classic movie look is there, and also an opportunity to expand. As an added bonus, this look could also include a small child, and could then expand to trios/families.

Nara and Lucky Blue Smith

Now, this one is a little bit more niche, but can always apply to the more humorous side of Halloween costumes. While being two incredibly successful runway models, Nara Smith and her husband, Lucky Blue, have also become international sensations on TikTok, gaining popularity for the meals Nara makes from scratch. The pair always has on notable outfits, making a costume easy. Nara’s hair is unique to her and easy to recreate, with Lucky typically being in a tweed suit with a toothpick in hand.

Ghost face and Casey

This one is another classic, being so recognizable that there’s so many ways to do this costume. It can be simple or elaborate, but will still be notable regardless. Alternatively, both of these costumes can be stand-alone as well.

Step-brothers

“Step-brothers” is forever timeless. Even people who have not seen the movie themselves will likely recognize this look, and it’s quite simple to recreate as well. All you would need is a button up, a sweater vest, and some kind of khaki pants to create a look that’ll have people talking for days.
