The Christmas season is upon us and so are all of the merry events that come along with it. One such event is Norwin High School’s annual Candy Cane Castle, which will be held on December 14 from 9:00 AM to noon. The price to get in is $15 for children three plus and any kids two and under are allowed entry for free. All proceeds go to benefit the Norwin High School Student Council.
Candy Cane Castle this year has much to offer the public and all of the kids in the community. Anyone who comes to experience the Christmas cheer will be welcomed to a breakfast to fuel their fun for the morning. After that, participants will be able to go and do whatever events they please, including a large list of activities includes crafts, games, stories, and much more.
Candy Cane Castle just a great way to get ready for Christmas, get in the holiday spirit,” Student Council officer Tyler Patrick (11) said. “Kids can visit Santa do crafts and just be ready for the Christmas season.”
In the past, other Candy Cane Castle events were incredibly successful. Many kids got to come to experience some fun and play plenty of games all while in the Christmas spirit. High school students also got the opportunity to work with little kids and spread the joy that comes with Christmas. Candy Cane Castle is more than just an activity to keep kids entertained, instead, it’s a way for the entire community to come together for the holiday season.
It’s really important for the community to be able to come into its high school and see all of the students in a spirited way,” Student Council advisor Mrs. Hufnagle. “The community all comes together to support each other and celebrate the holidays.”
Candy Cane Castle is one of the most important events for the Student Council. While being a huge asset in terms of profit, it is also one of their biggest events in terms of planning. All of the student council members are active during this event because of the immense planning that goes into setting up all these different assets. With all the work that the members put in, the student council would greatly appreciate anyone that comes to the event to hopefully make this year’s edition successful like the others.
“Everybody loves Candy Cane Castle and now it’s been here for so long that people look forward to it now,” Candy Cane Castle chair Addyson Granny said.
