The time of using a free water fountain or even filling your bottle at the water bottle station has come to an end. As Norwin instates a new policy in order to ‘help protect the planet.” Norwin as of May 1st nearing the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year will institute a $1.99 USD charge for every 16 ounces of water collected out of the fountain or filler, however you can void the charge with the use of a paper bottle. Any paper bottle used will be able to get free water once again similar to prior times in Norwin history.
“It’s a step in the right direction, in helping our planet,” said new teacher-Mrs. Botella-Pápel.
Despite the repulsion of students regarding the new policy, some people really don’t mind the switch. Since as long as you have a bottle composed of 98-99% paper, the water is free. The people who use reusable water bottles and plastic bottles will be the only ones at fault, or even those without bottles at all.

Norwin is also being generous in the aspect of payment collection to students. The first three years of the new policy and will include an all payment accepted system. The Knights will have cash collecting machines applied to each water dispensary placed around the school. In addition these newly developed water stations will take Apple Pay, Venmo, and PayPal.
Although some argue this is a wrong step for the Knights, as the profits will go to the school in order to help fund stadium renovations. It is really to just help improve the planet ideally. What do you think?
