A: Assistant Principal.
Q: What college did you go to and did you work in any other schools before Norwin?
A: I attended CalU for my undergrad and Lamar Univ. for my graduate degree. I spent my first five years teaching and coaching in Katy Texas as well as 2 years as a teacher and administrator at Duquesne City School District
Q: Why did you choose Norwin?
A: I chose Norwin because I believe in their mission and vision to impact student learning and prepare all students for success.
Q: Why did you join the education field?
A: I chose education to help make a difference in the lives of others. I love to serve, inspire, and motivate others to become the best that they can be.
Q: What does your average day look like?
A: Wake up early, get to work, go home and cook, get my children to their sporting events, exercise, night time routine with my kids, asleep by 11pm.
Q: What is one thing you want students to know about you
A: I love to fly fish for trout and steelhead
Q: What are your goals this year at Norwin for your new position?
A: To learn as much as possible in order to serve all students and teachers.
Q: What do you and your family like to do when you’re not at school?
A: We are a busy bunch. If we aren’t at dance, baseball, softball, basketball, football, horseback riding, or wrestling- we are normally preparing to go to one of those events. When life presents opportunities to relax we love to cook out, swim, travel, play games, and create lasting memories.

A: Lone Survivor

A: I have a respect for all genres of music but currently listen to today’s country hits.

A: Greece

Ms. Madison Younge
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in said position?
A: I am a high school English teacher, and I teach English 12.
Q: What college did you go to and did you work in any other schools before Norwin?
A: I went to CalU (PennWest) and graduated in 2023. Previously, I’ve worked at Thomas Jefferson HS and Woodland Hills STEAM Academy (7th grade).
Q: Why did you choose Norwin?
A: I chose Norwin because of the welcoming and kind community I was greeted with last December as a LTS. The admin, fellow educators, and other staff have made Norwin an environment that I wanted to be a part of. I am so thankful and proud to be officially part of it!
Q: Why did you join the education field?
A: I joined the education field because of my passion for service. I hope that in my time here, I can guide my students towards having a positive life: no matter what they choose to do! I know that if I can at least touch a few souls, I’m doing my service right.
Q: What does your average day look like?
A: My average day looks like energy drinks, grading, laughing with peers/friends, more grading, and coming home to my lovely dog and two cats.
Q: What is one thing you want students to know about you
A: One thing I want my students to know about me: I will never turn down a conversation about pop culture.
Q: What are your goals this year at Norwin for your new position?
A: One goal I have for this year is establishing my classroom. This means building my curriculum, finding my place amongst the environment, and getting to know the students along the way. Also, I hope to interact with the community and become more involved in school events.
Q: What do you and your family like to do when you’re not at school?
A:My family and I enjoy going to see movies, playing Nintendo games with each other (I’m the best at Mario Kart), and sitting outside by a fire.
Q: What is your favorite movie or actor?
A: My favorite actor is probably Florence Pugh. Midsommar was a great film!
Q: What is your favorite song or band?
A:My favorite band currently has to be Three Days Grace. However, I listen to all types of music!
Q: What is your favorite place to travel/would like to travel?
A: I would love to travel to Ireland. Hiking the mountains and seeing the castles would be a dream come true!

Mrs. Faith Miller
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in said position?
A: Biology teacher, I teach 9th grade Academic and Applied Biology. Along with Biomedical Innovations PLTW course.
Q: What college did you go to and did you work in any other schools before Norwin?
A: I went to Robert Morris University. Prior to coming to Norwin, I was substituting at Hempfield Area School.
Q: Why did you choose Norwin?
A: I chose Norwin because of the strong leadership and supportive administration. The colleagues I got to touch base with also, were very supportative, communicative, and collaborative.
Q: Why did you join the education field?
A:I love the teaching and coaching aspect, and I want to make an impact on lives.
Q: What does your average day look like?
A: My typical day as a teacher here at Norwin, is to come in everyday early before the school day starts. I teach 2 sections of Academic Biology in the morning, with amazing students. I then have lunch and teach a section of Applied Biology, PLTW Biomedical Innovation course, and a final section of Academic Biology. I am mainly working with the 9th grade student level, but I do get to work with seniors in the PLTW Biomedical Innovations course..
Q: What is one thing you want students to know about you
A: Students should know that I love Science/Biology and that I want to make a difference in their life. I am here to support them in all aspects, and am planning on getting more involved with the athletic side of Norwin as well.
Q: What are your goals this year at Norwin for your new position?
A: I want to become the best educator that I can be, I want to better my practice and build relationships with my colleagues.
Q: What do you and your family like to do when you’re not at school?
A: My family and I love watching sports, shopping, trying new foods, and boating.
Q: What is your favorite movie or actor?
A: My favorite actress is Jennifer Lawerence.
Q: What is your favorite song or band?
A: Favorite artist is Taylor Swift, it is too hard to pick a favorite song of hers, they are all amazing!!

A: I would love to travel to Europe, more specifically Greece.

A: School Police Officer

A: Westmoreland County Community College and yes I was an SRO for the Gateway School for a few years.
Q: Why did you choose Norwin?
A: Great School District

A: To work with our youth
Q: What does your average day look like?
A: You just never know
Q: What is one thing you want students to know about you
A: I am a father and a grandfather. Easy going and very approachable.
Q: What are your goals this year at Norwin for your new position?
A: To be the best SPO I can and hopefully help in the guidance of our kids in any way I can.
Q: What do you and your family like to do when you’re not at school?
A: See the granddaughter, spend time together.

A: Hard question, I have several. Clint Eastwood and Denzel Washington

Mrs. Donna Tamuschy
Q: What position are you in and what do you do in said position?
A: Non-certified school nurse for High School
Q: What college did you go to and did you work in any other schools before Norwin?
A: University of Pittsburgh- Ashford University- Community College of Allegheny County- Agency nurse for Norwin last year; camp nurse for 600 children & 400 staff in NY; hospital trauma nurse; case manager for high risk pregnant & new moms for Highmark
Q: Why did you choose Norwin?
A: I personally witnessed & was very impressed with the countless caring acts of kindness among the staff & to the students when I was an agency nurse working for Norwin last year & wanted to be a part of team that cares.
Q: Why did you join the education field?
A: I absolutely love children- I have two children of my own & our home was always the place where all the neighborhood kids hung out. Plus I was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years taking care of a troop of 6- 15 girls for various trips, badges, etc.
Q: What does your average day look like?
A: treatments of illnesses, & injuries, splinters, updating vaccination & health records; screenings for hearing, vision, height & weight; maintenance for AEDs & emergency supplies; health meetings on behalf of students w/ staff & parents

A: I am very personable & will try to help them any way I can
Q: What are your goals this year at Norwin for your new position?
A: to become certified in my position as a school nurse
Q: What do you and your family like to do when you’re not at school?
A: We love the Carnegie Museums of Natural History & Science Center; Pittsburgh Zoo; cinema movies;

A: I don’t have a favorite movie or actor, but I really do admire Josh Gates on Discovery Channel for his investigations of mysteries & strange phenomena.

A: My favorite band is the Rolling Stones.

A: I would love to travel to Hawaii, Tanzania, England, & Italy.
