Cooking can be many things. A great pastime, or a tedious chore. No matter how you see it, cooking is a part of everyday life, and just like many other aspects of life, it’s best to have fun with it. Cook with friends, expand your palate, and make foods that you love. The world of cooking is vast, and a group of Norwin students is discovering this firsthand while sharing their own good times on social media.
“The best part of cooking with friends has to be figuring it out,” senior member Joseph Brown said. “Most of the time, we have no idea what we are doing, but we make it work regardless of what goes wrong.”
At the end of the 2025 school year, friends Joseph Brown, Lucas Brahim, Zach Katona, and Mikey Barone got together with some other friends for a different kind of hangout…a chicken parmesan party! They all got together to cook some amazing food and feast on their own hard work. After that hangout, it was decided that they would have to cook together again, so over the summer, they would meet numerous times and cook all kinds of amazing dishes.

Along the way on their cooking journey, they had the idea to share their good time with others through Instagram. They posted snippets of video of themselves cooking or just having fun. Their account would capture all parts of the process. Going to the store, cooking at one of their houses, or creating the final product.
“The first time we all cooked together, it took forever,” Brown said. “Even though it took upwards of three hours, we all realized we have to cook so much more in the future.”
Sometimes, when cooking a meal, you have to spice it up, and when Gentlemen Eats was looking for ways to spice up their content, they found just the thing. The Gentlemen decided to bring in special guests. Guests not only add some new faces, but also allow for new people to show off what they might be good at cooking, like pasta, steak, or really any kind of food. For guests, the Gentlemen have already had two Norwin alumni. Graduates Tanner Schneck and Michael Strutt both have had their cooking ability shown off on the show. Strutt worked with the gentlemen to cook up a breakfast meal. Showing that he was an expert with eggs and a pro with potatoes.
“I love going through and learning along the way,” Micheal Barone said. “It’s always an adventure with the boys.”

The gentlemen have made some great-looking meals already in their short time being around. One of their best dishes was the steak sandwiches they made. They toasted the bread and put a butter sauce on as well. To add on and make the dish even better, they sautéed onions and mushrooms as toppings. The gents don’t always make the main course. Sometimes they make the desert, or even as deep as the sauce.
At the end of the day, the boys care less about what they are cooking, and more about hanging out with each other, having a good time.
“It’s never about the food,” Brown said. “It’s more about the memories we make along the way.”
