Norwin celebrates Dr. Seuss Day
February 3, 2021
On March 2, Norwin students will celebrate author Dr Seuss’s birthday. In honor of his birthday, the Norwin Council of PTA’s is hosting their annual T-shirt and hoodie sale.
This year’s shirt design was created by Norwin High School senior Amelia Flaherty.
Flaherty’s design includes elements of Dr. Seuss’s most famous books as well as a Norwin Knight mascot.
“I was inspired by the illustrations in my favorite Dr. Seuss books,” said Flaherty. “I wanted to create a design that would be instantly recognizable.”
Students will be able to order a shirt or hoodie until Feb. 12. This year the Norwin Council of PTA’s is offering pickup at The Print Shoppe as well as home delivery for an extra fee.
The council of PTA’s strives to provide scholarship opportunities to seniors who demonstrate leadership in the community, and the scholarship amount is based on the sales of the Dr, Seuss shirts. Last year, the PTA was able to provide four $1,000 scholarships.
“I was honored to win and to know that the proceeds from these shirts will help a Norwin Student pay for college,” said Flaherty.
Students can purchase the shirts here.
