On Saturday, December 13, at Norwin High School from 9:00 am to noon, the Norwin Student Council hosts its annual holiday event, Candy Cane Castle, for all the kids in the community. This is STUCO’s second biggest event throughout the entire year, aside from Homecoming. The event raises a lot of money for the student council, so it is a very important event for the council and the community.
“I think that Candy Cane Castle represents the holiday season very well,” said Student Council president Tyler Patrick. “The event gets everybody in the holiday spirit with an amazing breakfast, pictures with Santa, and Christmas crafts.”
Prior to the event, community members could buy tickets for Candy Cane Castle online from the Hometown Ticket App, and tickets are already sold out. Tickets cost $10.00 for all guests over the age of 3, and children 2 and under are free of charge but need a ticket. Student Council reports they sold over 1200 tickets.
“Student Council hosts our annual Candy Cane Castle event to celebrate the holiday season,” said assistant club advisor Ms. Pecora. “As a community & share in the excitement that this joyous time of year brings.”
Student Council has been busy prepping for the event. The Student Council painted many windows and posted on social media to get ready for the holiday season.
Additionally, the council is finishing off preparations and getting ready to kick off Candy Cane Castle, but they still need to set up the event a day before it opens and hope everything else goes as smoothly as possible.
