1. Giveon’s Give or Take- Maleah

Undoubtedly, choosing between Lana Del Rey’s Norman F***ing Rockwell and Giveon’s Give or Take was a hard decision; but, unlike the other album, I know Giveon’s album line-by-line. Giveon is an immersive experience into the world of r&b, especially for newbies like me. Give or Take is his first album, despite having massive success with songs like “Heartbreak Anniversary” and “Chicago Freestyle” with Drake. This 45-minute long album portrays Giveon’s conversations on love with his mother. Often, her voice from their phone calls is included during the beginning and endings of songs. As a young adult trying to navigate love Giveon’s trials and successes, rejections and rejecting, and thinking processes are extremely relatable.
