In 2022, the Norwin Hockey team won the PIHL Class A Penguins Cup Championship. Since then, the team has had rebuilding years. The Knights are working to make their way back on a winning path.
With the loss of key players like class of 24’ Alex Thomas, who led the PIHL in points, the team has had to fulfill player spots. Players like Parker Toth, Mason Hohman, Cal Constantino, and Brody Boban have become key players for the Knights.

The Knights have been redesigning a new program and adjusting to the coaching staff. After the 2023-24 season, the Knights’ head coach, Mike Robinson, left, and the assistant coach, Danny Zeravica, became the head coach starting in 2024-25 to present.
The team practices based on the game schedule. They usually have a practice every Thursday and a game typically every Monday.
The Knights compete in the AA division and are currently 3-9, which puts them in 10th place in their division.
Despite this, the team won all of the games they were favored to win. They still have a chance to gain a spot in the playoffs if they win their next 2 games.
Leading way for the Knights hockey team are sophomore Brody Boban with 16 pts, and juniors Mason Hohman with 13 pts and Cal Constantino with 12 pts. The Knights will look to continue to develop the young players to lead them in the future.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that we have not had a good past 1.5 years,” senior Toth explained. “We could be miserable, but we choose not to be because most players are seniors and we want to make something of it.”
No matter what, the players continue to work on self-discipline and try to stay positive no matter the circumstance. The team aims to stay positive and always bring each other up.
The Knights are a close-knit team, and everyone has their individual close friend groups. Everyone is friends with everyone.
“It [team chemistry] has helped us play together and always keep our heads up no matter what the result,” Toth exclaimed.
In order to prepare for games, the team focuses on getting a good warmup. It is key for them to show up on time and show up ready to play. The Knights must know who their competition is, who the good players are, and how to stop them.
Norwin Hockey continues to work hard to get back on its winning track. If the team can win its next 2 games against Wheeling Park (Jan. 8) and Greater Latrobe (Jan. 15), the team could secure a spot in the playoffs.
