On January 17, 2026, the annual Norwin’s Got Talent show was held in the Norwin Middle School auditorium. Twelve Norwin students competed in the competition, which was run by High School Choir teacher Mrs. Lauren Scheirer and the Norwin Theatre Company student officers. The show was judged by Norwin staff members Mr. Cicconi, Mr. Fleckenstein, Mrs. Jones, and Mrs. Hawley.
The first performance of the night was done by a band called The Unlucky Chops. Consisting of freshman Ezra, Jaymo, Michael, Parker, Tyler, Matthew, Colin, and Keagan, they performed the song Hello by Adele. The next performer to come on stage was Keegan Kirkland, performing their own song called “Copper Chain.” After “Copper Chain” was performer Samantha Divelbiss singing “In The Stars” by Benson Boone as a memorial to her late grandmother. Zach Rush was the next performer and he performed the song “Photograph” by Cody Fry on the piano.
The next performer who came on stage was Madelyn Woods and she sing the song “Tightrope” by Michelle Williams from the musical “The Greatest Showman.” After she came off stage three performers Zack Katona, Joey Brown and Sean Stukus performed a standup comedy act with their group called The Flying Meatballs. “The Flying Meatballs” act quickly turned into an all-out brawl, with student Sean Stukus being thrown through a table in the auditorium. After that battle, Sophia Tokay came up on stage and performed the song “Thank you for the Music” by ABBA in dedication to her family for inspiring her love of music.
After her, Knight Krier co-president Michael Makay came up on stage to perform an original rap song called “The Truth About Me.” His song featured many references to our Knight Krier, including a shoutout to advisor Mr. Fleckenstien. After he left, Jaxson Momeyer came to the stage and gave an intense performance of “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga. Although Momeyer claims his performance was a Fantasy Football Punishment, his friends and fantasy league mates dispute this claim.
The Knight Krier’s video of his thrilling performance has amassed over 9,000 likes on TikTok. After he left, Lucas Brahim and Riley Reynolds came to the stage and gave a duet of the song “I Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Frankie Valli. Next up after them was Carter Kunicky who sing the song Creep by Radiohead. To end the night, sisters Sienna and Malena DeJesus performed the song “For Good” from Wicked.
“What I liked best about the talent show was watching the students step on stage with confidence,” said talent show judge and Norwin assistant principal Kelly Jones. “You could see their hard work pay off as they performed and shared their talents with the audience. It was great to see students celebrated and supported by the community.”

After everyone was done performing their acts, the judges had to decide who had the best performance. The judges pick the three best performer,s and these performers receive cash prizes. 3rd place received $25 dollars, 2nd place received $50, and 1st place received $100. After a couple of minutes of deliberation, the judges reached a verdict, they decided that 3rd place should be a tie between Keegan Kirkland and Zach Rush. 2nd place went to Carter Kunicky for his touching rendition of “Creep.”
“I just practiced a lot by myself,” said 2nd place winner Carter Kunicky. “I played around with the key a bit and found what worked, and then just practiced it when I could.”
Sienna and Malena DeJesus won first place for their duet of “For Good.”
“It felt amazing— I honestly never expected receiving first place,” said first-place winner Sienna DeJesus. “I am proud of our performance and I am so glad I was able to sing with my sister in our final duet on the Norwin stage.”

Although the judges selected the three winners, there was an audience choice award as well. After all the performances, the audience get to vote on their favorite performance, and the performer with the most votes wins the audience choice award and a certificate. The Unlucky Chops were this year’s audience choice award winner.
The Norwin Theatre Company sets up and runs the Talent Show every year to raise money for the Musical in the spring. This year, the Norwin Theatre Company’s Musical is Mamma Mia and it will be held in the brand new High School Auditorium on March 19-21 at 7 PM and March 22 at 2 PM.
